The KVK Startersday is the premier event where aspiring entrepreneurs gain all the tools and information they need to successfully launch their businesses. In 2024, the challenge was to combine the KVK Startersdag with the KVK Innovation Top 100 Event. Two unique events, each with its own target audience, but united by a shared vision: to inspire, connect, and support both budding and established entrepreneurs on their business journeys. The focus was on delivering practical tools, knowledge, and networking opportunities, while retaining the interactive and personal character of both events.

Result

For the first time, both events were successfully combined! On Saturday, 16 November, Ahoy Rotterdam welcomed over 3,000 visitors – 2,600 attendees for the KVK Startersdag and 400 guests for the Innovation Top 100 Event. The KVK Startersdag offered starting entrepreneurs a diverse programme where they could tailor their own experience. Participants explored sessions, interactive workshops, and a lively exhibition floor with KVK and its partners providing tools and advice. A particular highlight was the KVKickstarter, an interactive experience where participants used AI tools to create business logos or social media content. Additionally, attendees engaged in 1-to-1 discussions with KVK advisors and drew inspiration from real-life success stories on the Inspiration Stage.

Meanwhile, the Innovation Top 100 Event began with a connecting session that brought both audiences together, fostering a unique cross-pollination of ideas and inspiration. Entrepreneurs from the Innovation Top 100 shared their insights during Top Sessions, while the Top 100 Expo and networking tables provided space for valuable interactions, innovation, and inspiration. The day culminated in the festive KVK Innovation Top 100 Awards, celebrating the most groundbreaking entrepreneurs in the Netherlands. This event proved to be the perfect platform for inspiring, connecting, and showcasing both emerging and established entrepreneurial talent.
