Assignment

Since 2016, Obsession has organized the Future of Finance every two years on behalf of FMO. This three-day conference focuses on sustainable development of the financial sector in emerging markets. During the conference, financial professionals - customers and partners of FMO - from more than 65 countries will be updated on the latest developments and trends in the financial sector and common challenges. After the Corona years, the conference could take place again this year for the first time and FMO has joined forces with Obsession with the assignment: 'Organize a memorable event where the complicated organization is taken care of by name.'

Result

On October 2, 3 and 4, 500+ participants gathered in the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ and Bimhuis in Amsterdam. The conference again presented a varied program of plenary speakers, panel discussions and substantive sessions, as well as original and surprising program components such as dance and music that tied in with the conference theme 'Waves of Change'. HM Queen Máxima gave a speech on financial inclusion and resilience during the opening and Professor Joyeeta Gupta emphasized on the second day the responsibility of the financial sector to operate within the boundaries of our ecosystems. Within three tracks People, Planet and Tech, various substantive sessions were held on, among other things, climate risk and the ethical implications of AI. There were more than enough networking opportunities for the guests, there was also full vegetarian catering, as well as Dutch delicacies and lots of entertainment between the sessions. The evening before the conference, FMO held a reception for all guests in the special Capital C location and a dinner in the Music Building.
