The Upstream Festival is the place where Rotterdam transforms into the ultimate home for startups, scale-ups, innovative SMEs, and venture capitalists who dare to dream big and aim to drive true innovation, productivity, and employment. This festival is a vibrant platform where all kinds of people come together to make the world a little better. It is a fantastic opportunity to learn, make new contacts, and get inspired by the latest developments in technology, sustainability, and inclusive growth. Upstream Festival Rotterdam celebrated its 5th anniversary in 2024. UpRotterdam and the Municipality of Rotterdam have joined forces with us to connect changemakers who can truly make a difference.

Result

In the heart of the city, we transformed the Annabel music venue into the festival's central hub. This two-day event began with a warm-up day full of side events organized by co-creation partners from the UpRotterdam and Upstream networks. A diverse group of partners organized various activities, such as a 'Breaking Barriers' breakfast by Erasmus University Rotterdam, a Circularity Run, and a Co-Founders Lab by YES!Delft. The main event featured roundtable discussions, in-depth sessions, inspiring fireside chats, and a networking space with more than fifty partners to connect with. By creating opportunities for the entire city and involving relevant co-creation partners in Upstream, we designed an inclusive and informal space where you can connect, get inspired, and find that one important connection that helps you realize your dream of moving upstream.
