Assignment
In recent years, we’ve been steadily building the Spot community through a rewarding collaboration – step by step, with a focus on connection, activation, and visibility. Now, the time has come for the next chapter of this event. Vitality will take on a more prominent role within the community, as will connection but in a less traditional, more playful form. Schiphol Spot has asked us to develop a creative concept and fully manage the realisation of a sporty event for Spot. The aim: to create an event that brings people together, placing sportsmanship and competition centre stage, resulting in greater visibility and recognition for Spot. This event also offers a great opportunity to attract new members and place vitality higher on the agenda. The event is set to take place in the autumn, outdoors on the Schiphol grounds. Key to the experience: safety, well-suited catering, and a brand identity that aligns seamlessly with Spot.
Result
For four days, we transformed The Square with a sporty pop-up padel court bursting with competition and fun. Three professional padel courts were exclusively available to Spot members, with participation via registration. We developed a full registration process for players, including play level input to ensure well-matched duels. Each day, three rounds were played, grouped by level – from beginner to advanced. In the final rounds, participants competed for the title ‘King of the Spot’.
Beginners were offered a clinic by Nikander Damianos, ranked #14 on the Dutch padel leaderboard, so they too could master the technique. And of course, we brought the supporter experience to life in style. We added mobile grandstands, branded and equipped with cheering props. From a photo booth to challenges to test your padel and reaction skills – there was something for everyone. Alongside the sporting element, the focus was strongly on brand experience. Branding, signage and atmosphere were carefully translated into the event’s design and the visual identity on and around the courts, so that the temporary concept felt completely at home in the environment and identity of Spot Schiphol. The result was a temporary experience that felt like a permanent fixture. One that helped build momentum for a more lasting padel facility. In total, we welcomed 144 enthusiastic padel players across four days.
